Alan Robertson

Alan Robertson is an independent Human Resource consultant and psychologist who specialises in individual, managerial and organisational development. He took his first degree at Oxford and his MBA at the Manchester Business School. Before establishing Alan Robertson Associates in 1992, Alan had accumulated fifteen years corporate experience in operational, strategic and board level managerial roles.

His professional affiliations include membership of the British Psychological Society, where he is a founder member of the Special Group in Coaching Psychology, and the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, of which he is a Fellow. He is a Senior Visiting Teaching Fellow of Cranfield University, where he leads the Personal Effectiveness module of the Fellowship in Manufacturing Management and teaches on other Masters-level courses.

Alan is an acknowledged expert on role transition and on the distinctive challenges associated with senior executive and leadership roles. Much of his own work is concerned with the development of high-potential cohorts, with personal coaching and with helping individuals and senior teams to recognise and get on top of ambiguous, complex and dynamic situations.

He is the author of three successful business books and is currently developing innovative approaches to the leadership of organisational change and continuous improvement.
